Rumours Salon & Boutique

Virginia Beach

“Rumours Salon and Boutique reached out to me during the 2020 shutdown looking to give their space a facelift. This Salon provides hair services, nail services, and even includes a small retail space for boutique clothing.

As we were trying to work within a budget and make the most impact for the least expenditure, I started by removing the wallpaper and painting fresh colors. Paint is always the least expensive and most effective way to transform a space.

The client loved the soft muted green tones of Sherwin-Williams SW6206 Oyster Bay and Sherwin Williams SW9132 Acacia Haze. I added a very dramatic Sherwin Williams SW6653 Delicious Melon as an accent color.

One of the client's most interesting product display pieces was an existing corner hutch with a unique white-washed weathered finish. This was my inspiration piece and I added a 14" base to make it look grander and located it in a more prominent location. Then I had our finishing artist duplicate this white wash wood finish on the reception desk and added picture framing wood trim. The reception desk and trimmed column with the new crown molding now look like weathered wood.

I found the perfect chairs ever from Grandin Road that match the new wall color exactly (and they were a great price!). An added bonus is that they are faux vinyl that looks and feels like leather so it is the perfect surface for durability and clean-ability in an upscale Salon.”
